Job Title: Digital Marketing Assistant Job Grade: Part-time, non-exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Management, this position is responsible for the day-to-day management of digital media in support of marketing campaigns that drive awareness and understanding of the YMCA's benefit to the community. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Marketing and Brand Management, this position serves as an additional contact for staff in regard to the websites, social media, mobile app, mass emails and other digital media. This role assists with the development of the digital media strategic plan and calendar, and is responsible for the implementation of that plan in compliance with branding guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with the creation and execution of the association’s digital media marketing plan that incorporates social media, web/email, blogs, and mobile app(s).
- Assists with marketing efforts to drive the positive membership experience connection & engagement, program registrations, retention and member satisfaction.
- Develops content, posts, and responses on association social media in compliance with the digital marketing plan.
- Monitors, provides recommendations, and assists with strategy implementation; adheres to best practices for digital media.
- Ensures digital media 'voice', messaging and graphics are compliant with the Y brand.
- Assists in delivery of general membership and program specific email marketing.
- Assists with the creation of graphics and design layouts for print ads, flyers, emails, website, blogs and social media.
- Researches and reviews trends in digital media to further enhance the association’s marketing efforts.
- Assists with tracking website analytics and data for digital media effectiveness; makes appropriate adjustments under the directive of the Sr. Director of Marketing and Brand Management.
- Provides support to the overall marketing efforts of the YMCA with performing other related duties as needed.
NECESSARY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working within a specified marketing plan.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Creativity, resourcefulness, and service focused as exhibited through prior work experience.
- Proven reliability while working on multiple projects to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in navigating web-based programs.
- Knowledgeable in basic electronic media terminology and frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Acrobat).
- Firm grasp of available tools and platforms in the social medial space including Facebook, Instagram, and video platforms.
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED (provided by the YMCA).
- Current driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficiency in video production and/or photography.
- 2 years of formal education or training in marketing.
- Experience in Drupal.
- Possession of Spanish language both written and spoken.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Management of digital or social media under a business marketing plan – 2 years

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be able to use a computer for extended periods of time and communication using a computer and/or smart device.
- Sitting for long periods of time, reaching, and ability to move around the work environment.
- Occasional lifting up to 50+ pounds.
- Use of vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
- Moderate to loud noise levels in the work environment.
- Occasional evening and weekend work.
- Occasional exposure to outdoor elements.
- Occasional stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
