The YMCA must perform annual cleaning and maintenance checks on the pool pumps and filters to keep our systems running at a high-level each year. This scheduled preventative maintenance allows the YMCA to reduce the number of unexpected pool closures for members throughout the year.

Our goal is to keep one pool open and available for members to use while the other pool is undergoing maintenance. We will begin in the Competition Pool on August 17th and the Rec/Therapy Pool will remain open until preventative maintenance on the Competition Pool is complete. Once maintenance is completed on the Competition Pool, the Recreation/Therapy Pool will close for preventative maintenance while the Competition Pool is reopened for member use. The YMCA will keep our members informed via email, social media, and website banners to inform members of the status of the project.

When the Competition Pool is reopened after maintenance is finished, we will be increasing the temperature from 82 degrees to 84 degrees to provide a smooth acclimation for those who are used to the 86 degree water in the Recreation/Therapy Pool.

Due to capacity limitations, Open Swim will NOT be offered during scheduled Aqua Fit classes.
