CLASH OF THE CONTROLLERS

Join us for some friendly competition at the Y with our first-ever Esports Tournament! Youth ages 9-15 will be welcome to join us for a tournament on Saturday, May 10th from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Community Room and the Teen/Intergen Room in which kiddos will compete with their peers in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate! Registration for the tournament will open on April 11th!

Cost: $15

Receive $5 of your registration fee back if you bring in equipment to help us run the tournament, including Nintendo Switch consoles, controllers, docks, power cables OR copies of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate!

Note: Parents MUST remain in the facility while their child is participating in this event.


RULES

  • This tournament is capped at 32 participants. Depending on interest, the participant pool may be capped at a lower amount at the discretion of YMCA staff.
  • Participants are highly encouraged to bring their own controller. The YMCA has a limited number of controllers and consoles available for participants to borrow for the duration of the event, and lack of controllers may severely delay your child's ability to participate in the event.
  • Bracket information will be displayed in the Community Room for the duration of the event.
  • This tournament is structured in a double-elimination, best-of-3 format.
  • Matches will be played with the following ruleset:
    • 1v1
    • 3 stocks
    • No items
  • The only stages permitted during tournament play will be the following: Battlefield, Small Battlefield, Final Destination.
