POSITION SUMMARY |
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Membership Experience, the Member Experience Coordinator, is responsible for but not limited to: assisting in the operations of the Member Experience Department, ensuring member/participant satisfaction, member and staff retention and safety, staff supervision, onboarding, training, and coaching. This position leads an environment that is inviting and serves all.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Supports department in execution and establishment of membership operations in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
2. Responsible for the development, planning, and execution of the Member Experience Team staff schedule.
3. Provides shift supervision while working 80% of time in direct service.
4. Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, development of team members.
5. Provides consistent team member feedback.
6. Supports campaign efforts and donor engagement in the community and among team members. 7. Models relationship building in all interactions.
8. Responds to all member and community inquiries and/or complaints in accordance with YMCA procedures and guidelines.
9. Adheres to the organization’s policies and procedures.
10. Performs other duties as determined by department need
NECESSARY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Minimum of 1 year of related experience.
3. Current American Red Cross First Aid/AED certification.
4. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
7. Adept computer skills in standard office programs.
8. Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
9. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
1. Possession of Spanish, language both written and spoken.
2. Some college coursework completed.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
1. May work in a warm, humid environment.
2. May be required to sit, stand, stoop, or kneel for extended periods of time.
3. May be exposed to cleaning chemicals.
4. Must be mentally alert to dangerous situations in order to assure the safety of all members and participants.
5. Must be physically and mentally able to respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid safely.
6. Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic.
7. Ability to communicate clearly with members and staff.
