BLENDED LEARNING LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor course prepares experienced lifeguards to teach and certify future lifeguards. Participants will learn instructional techniques, course administration, skill evaluation, and how to effectively deliver American Red Cross Lifeguarding programs.

 

The online portion of the course will be emailed to all registered participants prior to the first in-person session. Participants must complete all online coursework and bring proof of completion to the first day of class.

CLASS DETAILS

Location: Bloomington-Normal YMCA | 202 St. Joseph Dr., Bloomington, IL

 

Cost: $300

REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be 17 years or older by the last day of the course.
  • Must hold a current American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification.
  • Must successfully complete the Lifeguard Instructor pre-course session, including demonstrating proficiency in all lifeguarding skills.
  • Must pass the required Lifeguarding knowledge and skills evaluations.
  • Must bring a swimsuit, towel, CPR mask, and current lifeguarding certification to class.
  • Must complete all online coursework prior to the first in-person session.
  • Must attend and actively participate in all course sessions to earn American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification.
