Group Centergy

Balance and Flex together in this invigorating 60-minute mind-body workout. It incorporates yoga and Pilates fundamentals with athletic training for balance, mobility, flexibility, and the core.

Combines traditional strength exercises with the hottest functional training moves to make you fitter and stronger. High-rep training, athletic movements, and a periodized training approach are key components of this results-driven workout. Add to this dynamic and motivational music and it simply is the most fun you’ll have strength training.

 

Group Ride

 

 

Group Ride is a 60-minute cycling experience brought indoors that will get you heart, lung, and leg strong. Inspiring music sets the pace and creates the terrain as you roll over hills, chase the pack, spin the flats, climb mountains, and sprint to the finish! RIDE ON!

 

 

R30

R30 is your 30-minute, easy to follow cardio workout. Music will make the time fly, and you'll feel great working up a sweat. You make the most out of R30, no matter if you're just starting an exercise program or have been racing bikes for years. The bike is completely adjustable, so you're in control! Join us 5 minutes prior to the start of your first class to get your bike set up.

SUPPORTING A FUN, ACTIVE COMMUNITY

Move to music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. This class will help you stay healthy, increase your range of motion, and maintain your independence.

ForeverWell

ForeverWell is a fitness and wellness program offered at no additional cost to seniors 55+ that helps you get active, get fit, and connect with others.

 

The program is designed for all levels and abilities and provides full access to the YMCA.

ForeverWell workouts include fall prevention drills and exercises to improve strength and endurance. A chair and handheld weights or tubing are recommended. 

 

Can I join a class if I'm a beginner or have physical limitations?

ForeverWell classes are created for adults of all ages, fitness levels and abilities.

Our instructors provide modifications to moves and have chairs available whenever possible.

All ForeverWell classes are designed by experts in senior fitness and taught by credentialed fitness professionals.

What should I wear and bring?

We recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely and well-fitting athletic shoes.

You may also want to bring a water bottle, a towel, or a yoga/exercise mat, depending on what you're planning on doing.

LOW IMPACT RESISTANCE WORKOUTS FOR ALL FITNESS LEVELS

The benefits of exercising in water are twofold, providing both lower impact and higher resistance than doing it on land. Get a full body workout that’s safe for your joints and healthy for your heart.

 

Note: Aqua Fitness classes are customizable to fit any skill level. However, beginner/intermediate-level classes will take place in the Recreation/Therapy pool, and advanced classes will take place in the Competition Pool. Feel free to talk to your instructor if you're looking for a way to make a beginner/intermediate-level class more intense, or if you'd like to make an advanced class a bit easier!

Aqua Exercise Classes

Aquabata

High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) in Tabata format.

 

Work cycles ranging from 20 seconds to 50 seconds, followed by 10 second rest. This style of training can enhance both aerobic and anaerobic capacity, making it effective for improving overall fitness.

Aqua Fit

Take part in this heart-pumping, low-impact aerobic exercise while utilizing water weights to add resistance. Entire body workout with additional stretching and balancing techniques.

 

Aqua Jam

This warm water exercise starts with functional fitness movements by using the resistance of the water, focusing on cardio, strengthening major muscle groups and promoting stability and balance. Upbeat music will leave you with an extra hop in your step throughout the day.

Aqua Karaoke

This fun-filled warm water workout will keep you moving and singing to the "Oldies but Goodies" playlist! We will be using resistance equipment to gain strength and agility while our movements flow with the tunes of yesteryear! The interaction between participants makes you feel like family and guaranteed laughter will be heard!

Aqua Therapy

Aquatic therapy uses the unique properties of water to support and facilitate movement, strength and rehabilitation in our Rec/Therapy Pool. You will gain mobility and flexibility in muscles and joints to be able to move more fluently on land.

Cardio Splash

This is High Intensity Interval Training (H.I.I.T.) class which provides the opportunity to challenge every major muscle group with bursts of cardio in-between sets; to receive both strengthening and cardiovascular benefits.

Cardio Waves

Take part in a heart pumping cardio workout using water dumbbells! We will add resistance training to gain muscle strength, muscle endurance and improve our range of motion as well as flexibility!

HIIT The Deep

Let's HIIT the deep water! Placing a flotation belt around our waist to join in for this dynamic, high-energy, low-impact workout. This class raises your heart rate for an aerobic workout and will surely make you smile!

Hydro Hustle

A high-energy, total body workout filled with choreographed movements to the rhythm and beat of the music! This workout routine will benefit both your heart health and endurance!

Hydro Power

A high-energy cardio workout that also uses resistance for strength training. Great for circulation and easy on joints. Fun and safe for all fitness levels.

Strength, Core & Balance

In our Rec/Therapy Pool, we utilize our resistance equipment as well as techniques of yoga and ilates, which allows us to work on building and strengthening our muscles!

Strength & Stride

Water walking in our Therapy pool which provides the opportunity to strengthen our muscles while reducing the mechanical stress on our hips, knees, ankles and feet!

Water Walking

The water's buoyancy supports the weight of your body while reducing stress on your joints. In our Lazy River, the resistance assists in muscle memory to improve walking on land as well as building strength, balance and stamina. Lots of fun, too!

Total Body: Strength is a full-body workout focused on increasing your muscular strength and endurance! All fitness levels welcome!

Total Body: Youth Strength

A Group Exercise class that aims to help kids get on the path of healthy living and to teach the youth proper gym etiquette and safety.

 

Note: this Group Exercise class is for youth ages 8-13. As a safety precaution, we ask that parents remain in the facility while their children are participating in this class.

Total Body: TABATA

Total Body: TABATA incorporates a mixture of cardio and strength training intervals to enhance your overall fitness level! All fitness levels welcome!

WERQ

WERQ (pronounced like "work") is a wildly addictive cardio dance workout based on trending pop and hip-hop music. WERQ's mission is to create a judgement-free dance space built on good vibes, a great sweat and a supportive community!

Zumba

Zumba combines high energy and motivating music with unique moves and combinations. Zumba is a fusion of Latin and International music dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy-to-follow dance steps. Beginners welcome.

For those looking for a low-impact option for cardio fitness, cycling is a perfect fit. Welcoming new exercisers (with or without cycling experience) looking for simplicity and the ability to work as hard as they want as well as avid cyclists looking for an indoor/off-season training option.

R30

R30 is your 30-minute cardio workout. Music will make the time fly, and you will feel great working up a sweat! Indoor Cycle45

This 45-minute indoor cycle class incorporates the beat of the music to fly through sprint intervals and up those steep mountains! Each rider controls their own resistance, making the workout unique to you! Join us 5 minutes prior to the start of your first class to get your bike set up.

At every age and stage of life, a healthy spirit, mind and body can be your focus at the YMCA. With a variety of mind & body classes to help you relax, stretch and strengthen your body, we have something for everyone.

Mind & Body

Refresh, Reset, Realign

This class is perfect for either a warm-up before or a cool down after your workout! Using tennis ball massage, stretching, and gentle stabilization exercises to improve posture and biomechanics. Expect to walk out with more knowledge of anatomy, proper biomechanics, and with more tools in your self-care tool belt.

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is ideal for seniors, and anyone working with limited mobility that would like to build coordination and balance. We'll use a chair to support the movements of every joint -- such as flexion and extension, lateral flexion and rotation -- with safe and accessible methods. You'll be guided through a series of calming breathing techniques and simplified versions of yoga postures.

Hatha Yoga

All levels are welcome to this guided movement practice meant to develop strength, mobility, and balance. Deepen your understanding of the postures and body alignment, while also occasionally exploring pranayama breathing techniques and meditation.

Group Centergy

Balance and Flex together in this invigorating 60-minute mind-body workout. It incorporates yoga and Pilates fundamentals with athletic training for balance, mobility, flexibility, and the core.

Mat Pilates

Mat Pilates focuses on strengthening the muscles of the core, pelvic floor, glutes, back and shoulders. We will prioritize proper alignment, correct movement initiation and breathing. The pace is calm and deliberate but the exercises will challenge your mind and body. Class is open to beginner and intermediate students. Modifications are offered for injuries and movement restrictions.

Power Yoga

This energetic and strength-building yoga practice is the perfect way to start your morning! Link movement to breathe in this active and fun class. No experience necessary, with plenty of modifications will be offered throughout.

Restorative Yoga

Come to restore yourself in gentle yoga! This class is about slowing down, going inward, tuning into oneself through breath, gentle movement, and meditation. You will leave feeling relaxed and at one with all aspects of your being. All skill levels welcome, no previous experience required!

Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a meditative style of exercise that offers a wide range of benefits, including lower blood pressure, reduction of stress and joint pain, better balance, and improved strength and flexibility. Our Tai Chi classes at the Y focus on the fundamentals of Tai Chi, along with the postures. We use Yang style 24 form for our class, and we teach the seven active ingredients: Awareness, Intention, Active Relaxation, Strength, Flexibility, Breathing and Social Support.
